SRU's Disc Golf Course
I think that putting the disc golf course on campus was a great idea. It must be relatively inexpensive to build, since all that was really required were the pins, chained baskets to throw the disc at. It is a good option for those who live on campus and are looking for something to do. Playing disc golf is also a good thing because it gets people outside and moving, rather than sitting in their dorms and watching TV and surfing the web. But not too many people know that this course even exists. The only way I knew about it was from my friend who is really into disc golf. He asked me to play with him one, and I enjoyed it. It is not very difficult course, having few obstacles to throw around, so it is good for beginners. And I am by no means good at this game, and I was able to play a decent game. Like I said before it is a good outlet for those who want to get off the couch and move around.

I was just talking to my friend the other day about the disc golf course. I didnt know anything about it, or even how to play it. One day I came back to campus and saw the chain thing. I think that the campus should put a few flyers out or have a few classes just teaching everyone the rules. Over time, I think that it can become a big thing on campus, but if no one knows how to play the game, then it can't really advance! I might try it soon, or at least learn how to play!
ReplyDeleteI think this is very interesting. I don't know much about this sport or how it is played. I didn't know that this course was around to a teacher told us about it. This is good way to get students active. Plus this is interesting and not the normal sport it adds different twist to game . I think it is very cool and I will have to think about playing some time.
ReplyDeleteI'm glad that you posted this because I really love to disc golf, and while i've seen the course on campus I yet to get a chance to play. I've heard that it's very well maintained, and they mow the grass on the course pretty regularly. It's also a lot more convenient than having to drive all the way out to Morain to play. Hopefully sometime soon i'll go play and get a chance to experience this new recreational activity on campus.
